It's a big off-season for the Hyannis Mets. The organization is finally ready to (hopefully) unveil a new lighting system (see installation photos) to draw more fans and they are looking for their first postseason bid since the '04 season. Cape baseball is still seven months away (that doesn't sound like too long, does it?), so expect some changes in the recently posted 2008 Mets roster before the first pitch is thrown. One standout name for me is Matt Nuzzo (Brown). Nuzzo is a two-sport athlete that earned a spot on the Falmouth Commodores in the 2006 tryout (story). He was a temp player this past summer for Falmouth. Nuzzo started the Brown football season this year playing alongside his brother Frank, but he has since fallen off the football roster (injury?).
In other western division news, the Falmouth Commodores have posted some photos of their new lighting system. It looks like the wood poles are finally coming down in favor of the industrial lights seen at other Cape ballparks.
