The Cape Cod Times reported today that five of six CCBL teams had reached agreement with the MLB in their dispute regarding license of big league team names for merchandise. The Bourne Braves, the Chatham A's, the Harwich Mariners, the Hyannis Mets, the Orleans Cardinals and the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox -- all members of the Cape Cod League -- share names of Major League teams. Commissioner Paul Galop told us recently that a deal was imminent (see post below).
See our letter to Commissioner Bud Selig on this matter.
The CC Times (Nate Sandals) reports that there is one hold out in the Cape League who has not reached an agreement. This is either a principled stance by one team, or a mere technicality.
