After 10 days, leaders emerge

After 10 days of play, the Hyannis Mets and Falmouth Commodores are off to hot starts -- 5 wins and a little win-streak.  But look at the lowly Harwich Mariners.  Isn't it ironic that two of the top teams are MLB-named (see previous post)? It's still early but it looks like Chatham and Wareham are underperforming.  Chatham is still awaiting several players from North Carolina, who continue to storm the College World Series in Omaha.

Harwich is getting it done by leading the league in team pitching (4-2 with a 1.84 ERA).  The Mariners are not dominating in hitting but come in a respectable 4th with .245 team batting average.  Orleans is not far off in team pitching but seem unable to hit the ball, hitting a collective .181.

Five guys are hitting .400 and above.  Nick Liles (Y-D), Greg Miclat (Y-D), Kevin Patterson (Cotuit), AJ Pollock (Falmouth), Trent Ashcraft (Hyannis).  Yes, it's early, but this is after nearly 30 at-bats.

Hyannis' RHP Andrew  Carraway (Virginia) appears unbeatable so far.  He is 2-0 with 14 strike-outs.
