Buster Posey poses a Giant threat to Bengie Molina

Buster Posey Buster Posey (Y-D, '06-'07) will not get the call to the bigs this season. But, with veteran catcher Bengie Molina facing free agency, it looks like Buster will get his shot next season. Buster was sent directly from Class-A San Jose to Class AAA-Fresno on July 14, 2009. He's batting .321 with 5 homers and 22 RBIs in 35 games.

On August 15, 2008, Buster signed a $6.2 million contract with the Giants. On the Cape, he was a great contributor to the Y-Dynasty. He was an All-Star shortstop in the 2006 season, and was an All-Star catcher in 2007. Posey turned down an invite to the '07 Team USA National Team to return to Y-D.

Commenting on his success, Buster told the Sacramento Bee: "I need to work on everything. … There's always room to improve, offensively, defensively. I've been pleased with my transition."

Posey does have to work a bit on his fielding... he was charged with 4 errors in his 35 games with the Grizzlies. As a comparison, Bengie Molina has 4 errors through 105 games with the Giants.
